The Account Executive develops and manages the relationship with prospective and existing clients, including brokers, advisors, insurance carrier or TPA sales teams and plan sponsors. This position is the owner of client annual renewal plan, development of long-term account strategy and a lead in meeting client immediate needs. The Account Executive is responsible for client retention as well as identifying leads, up sell and expansion opportunities, and incorporating them into the annual strategic plan. The Account Executive is in charge of achieving corporate strategic goals relative to client base and overall customer satisfaction.
The Account Executive has overall accountability for core service delivery for clients, working cross-functionally with all ESC business areas in order to meet and/or exceeding corporate strategic goals and client expectations.
Identify leads, manage and strengthen client relationships and ensure satisfaction levels are met. Responsible for client renewals, up sells and expansions and for meeting client retention targets. Work with consultants as required.
Accountable for development of client-specific strategic plan, and ongoing monitoring of plan with adjustments made as necessary. Delivery of annual review of plan performance with client.
Interface directly with assigned clients and groups on a quarterly basis or more frequently as needed. Serves as the face of Express Scripts Canada with ongoing communication to the client as necessary to maintain and grow relationship thereby, ensuring client retention.
Serve as account strategist for assigned accounts both internally and externally. Determine opportunities for up sells, expansions and maximizing opportunities for revenue growth.
Work in collaboration with Account Management team and direct activities of internal Account Associate team, including extended team members, as related to client strategic objectives and escalated service issues. Special projects and tasks forces as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
10-15 years relevant experience or Master’s degree with 8-10 years relevant experience
Knowledge of Pharmacy Benefits Management or Group Insurance industry preferred
Strong Project management skills
Proven ability to excel at strategic thinking and planning
Superior interpersonal communications, collaboration, relationship-building and influence skills, including excellent oral and written communications skills in English. Fluency in French would represent a strong asset.
Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Working knowledge of financials;
Ability to travel between 20%-30% of the time to meet goals.
