Position Summary : This course builds on the fundamentals taught in AR101, using case studies to illustrate methods and theoretical approaches used in modern archaeology. A global perspective is taken on issues of concern to archaeologists today including site excavation and recording, the most recent scientific advancements, relevancy of archaeology to contemporary issues, conservation and protection of archaeological resources through legislation. Weekly labs provide hands-on experience with artifact analysis and interpretation.
