Integrated Support Services is the largest back-office support unit for Global Banking & Markets, Group Treasury and International Banking. ISS is the primary centralized control point for the processing, confirmation, accounting, payment and reporting of securities transactions, including fixed income, equities, bond and equity based options, leveraged buy-outs, money market instruments and securities lending activities. Processing take place within a highly automated, technology-oriented work environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with both the Manager (s) in the process Engineering group in the identification, initiation, research and development of process solutions for GWO. This may involve participation in rapid prototyping, with requirements and solutions developed on an iterative basis, which provide interim deliverables until a final production solution is created.He/she will work independently on specific solutions or may be part of a cross functional team involving individuals from the various BNS business areas. Participate in the creation and development of process improvement within GWO with intent of improving process Quality. Assisting in the development of conversion and implementation strategies, and assisting in the provision of user documentation, user training, and post-implementation support. He/she will demonstrate a high level of professional service to internal and external customers consistent with our role as a service provider of back office functions.
*Work with the Manager to resolve highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of Derivative Product Operations with a specific focus on creating measurable / qualitative Improvements through the application of business, technical, and process engineering knowledge. Direction will be provided by the Director – Process Engineering Group and/or Manager, in conjunction with the rest of the GWO Management Team.*Support projects to implement solutions to business problems. This involves development of test cases and the conducting of testing, definition of user procedures and workflows, development of conversion and implementation strategies, and provision of user documentation.*Develop computer based desktop solutions to meet the day to day needs of the Derivative Product Operations group. Documentation of new workflows and controls for training and audit purposes.*Development and operation of a comprehensive production management metrics process that provides necessary MIS / Dashboards to GWO Senior Management for decision support purposes. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately.*Work with the GWO Technology Applications Group to design and transfer large scale manual processes for automation by building business requirements and providing process expertise. Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division’s business strategies and policies, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to effectively assist in the provision of business solutions and services to the end user business lines.
The Derivatives business line is a fast paced environment and is constantly changing. This position is required to create, implement and re-engineer processes for the supporting areas within Derivative Product Operations which handles the traded products.*Specialized knowledge of and demonstrated experience in:-Process Improvements and solutions implementation-Strong analytical, technical and organizational skills -Demonstrated knowledge of analytical problem solving and process engineering techniques (ie. process mapping and analysis techniques)-Experienced in change management methodologies.*Superior technical knowledge in MS Office tools (ie Visual Basic, Access, Excel), Visio or other flowcharting tool, Sybase, Unix environments, Bloomberg API, etc*Strong communications and influencing skills:-Sound negotiation and interpersonal skills-Good oral and written communication skills and presentation skills-Works well in a team environment.*Goals and results oriented, deadline driven and self motivated:-Able to combine aggressive initiative with professional discipline and demeanor to accomplish difficult tasks, often through other people.*Experience with either Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing an asset:- Practical knowledge of Project Management concepts an asset.*Practical knowledge / experience in Trading Products and good understanding of standard operational processes an asset:- Knowledge of EMIR, DF regulatory environment for Derivative products an asset.
