Long Lake #58 First Nation, under the Education Authority, is lo  oking to fill the following positions for the Bimaadizowin Centre (Living the Good Life):

Classroom Teacher (1)

Wellness Worker (1)

Education Assistant (1)

Location: Migizi Wazisin Elementary School – MWES

Term: January 15th, 2018 to June 29th, 2018 with possibility for extension

Long Lake #58 First Nation is geographically located on Highway 11 near Longlac, Ontario. Migizi Wazisin Elementary School has approximately 100 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Staff and students are involved in cultural programming in all areas of the curriculum which can take place daily. The schools strive to offer a personalized learning experience to each student including an emphasis on self-expression, the celebration of First Nation culture, conversation and cooperation. Circle of Security training and understanding and/or training in Attachment Theory would be considered assets.


Teacher: BA/BEd

A current Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualifications

Wellness Worker: Education, Training and Experience

Diploma in the field would be an asset or similar training/experience, e.g. Social Worker, Child and Youth Worker

Education Assistant: Education, Training and Experience Diploma in the field would be an asset or similar training/experience, e.g. Education Assistant, Tutor Escort, and Early Childhood Education
