– Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is required
– Completion of secondary (high) school is required
– 2 years to less than 3 years of work experience as a cook in a restaurant is required

Job duties:
– Prepare, cook, and present hot and cold appetizers and dishes such as Japanese style salad, miso soup, and Tataki with minimal supervision;
– Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style deep fried dishes such as Ikapiri, Karaage, and Korokke with minimal supervision;
– Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style grill dishes such as grilled fish and Japanese style skewer with minimal supervision;
– Prepare, cook, and present Japanese style noodle dishes with minimal supervision;
– Prepare and present Sushi and other rice dishes with minimal supervision;
– Prepare Dashi (Japanese stock);
– Suggest/plan new menus and determine size of food portions and presentation of food;
– Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment;
– Estimate food requirements and costs;
– Order supplies and equipment;
– Train new staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Supervise kitchen staff and helpers in preparation, cooking and handling of food;
– Schedule staff;
– Clean and Inspect kitchen and work areas
