General Accountabilities

  • Join a diverse team of experienced Cybersecurity practitioners, and act as a subject matter expert for Information Security with the Lines of Business (LOB)
  • Provide assistance to the department manager and the team of Sr. IT Security Specialists for the development, management and continuous improvement of Hydro One’s Cybersecurity Governance and Risk Management Program
  • Conduct research and analyze emerging Cybersecurity Threats Risk.
  • Track, monitor and follow up core Cybersecurity Governance program deliverables.  Ensuring reports and forms are filled out properly, and tracking action items status.
  • Identify opportunities to measure and improve Cybersecurity Risk program.
  • Maintain Cybersecurity Governance department’s document libraries/SharePoint sites/etc. ensuring effective document management techniques are used.
  • In conjunction with department and other subject matter experts and coworkers, support the gathering of evidence required to maintain compliance with Security Code of Practice i.e. schedule and attend risk remediation meetings, maintaining the contacts and distribution lists, track and collection all mitigation evidence and security testing and reports.
  • Ensure Risk tracker is being filled out properly.
  • Assist LOBs on remediation options and inquires.
  • Assist with preparing Cybersecurity Training and Awareness materials.
  • Monitor and coordinate Cybersecurity Governance mailbox communications, Security Waivers, and coordinate responses to requests for information.
  • Manage multiple SharePoint sites, regularly update information as necessary.
  • Maintain the Cybersecurity Governance document repository with sufficient security protection/permissions.
  • Focus on security risk management and information security governance as it relates to Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) systems
  • Translate technical cyber & information security requirements into business actions.
  • Measure progress and track actions items related to the security governance framework based on NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF) for the LOBs.

Selection Criteria:

  • Knowledge of Hydro One or similar critical infrastructure or energy sector organization.
  • Understanding the role of the security governance team within the organization
  • Experience in the Identification and measurement of security risks
  • Applying of security in the phases of the system development lifecycle
  • Ability to be a member of the team, working with a project manager and the architects
  • Ability to quickly learn the security standards and provide guidance to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with lines of business to understand their business objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communications, and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Work, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong human relations skills to interface with clients, partners and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to adopt continuous learning.
  • Asset: relevant two years of generally related current work experience

The following skills are also desirable:

  • Experience with security in both IT and OT networks
  • Experience working in Identity and Access Management
  • Knowledge of NERC CIP, and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework
  • Certification:  (Associate) CISP, CISA or CISM

    This role does not have “on-call” responsibilities.  Candidates would work from downtown Toronto location.
