Pharmacy Systems Support Specialist

Express Scripts Canada is actively looking to hire a Pharmacy Systems Support Specialist for Express Scripts Pharmacy.  The successful candidate will analyze business processes, software processes and data in response to business issues and initiatives to help drive higher productivity and streamlined activities and events. The analyst will be responsible for working closely with external clients, internal end users, technical teams and other stakeholders to support business needs. The analyst must be effective at identifying areas of possible change, defining requirements, and work to improve the overall benefit of the systems. The System Support Specialist is responsible for creating user stories and acceptance criteria for sign off by business users.


  • Monitor, investigate, answer and log application issues.
  • Impart business knowledge to assist and support Express Scripts Canada’s external and internal customers on day-to-day system issues.
  • Review, map, and analyze business processes and translate them to functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Analyze existing technical processes and being able to document it and recommend solutions to meet the operational needs and goals of the business.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems, sub-systems, and processes.
  • Liaise with other internal departments as required
  • Write and distribute internal communications regarding system-related issues
  • Assists with system and related process documentation including workflow processes.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot workflow and data integration issues across all the touch points.
  • Organize and secure dashboards, reports, documents, etc.
  • Create custom reports and dashboards as needed.
  • Compiles data and provides adhoc-reports as needed for management.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of previous business analysis experience within an Information System environment
  • Strong Pharmacy or Group Health business analysis knowledge is critical
  • Experience/working knowledge of AX, CRM and Kroll preferred
  • Knowledge of Ontario community pharmacy experience preferred
  • Knowledge of agile development methods (Scrum, Kanban) preferred
  • Strong analytical ability from a business and technical perspective
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Very good interpersonal/communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills combined with good analytical and planning skills
  • Willing to travel on occasion
