(1) TRADES PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Pre-Apprenticeship Welding Program and Millwright Program

Contract Position: (40 Hours per week; 52 weeks or until March 31, 2019)
Location: Welding – Niagara College, Welland, ON
Millwright, Cambridge, ON
Various locations across southern Ontario – daily travel to out of town training site requires commute

Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal Area Management Board (NPAAMB) in a joint effort with our training partners will facilitate the training and placement of Aboriginal youth in the specialty Welding and Millwright fields through completion of a technical skills training program.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Program Coordinator provide project coordination, support, occasional facilitation and effective service delivery to the Pre apprenticeship Welding and Millwright/Electrician programs to ensure the projects align with NPAAMB’s long term strategic plan and the Contribution Agreement between NPAAMB and the funder.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Five years of progressive experience in a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child and Youth or related field or
  • 3-5 years’ experience in front line client service and program coordination role
  • 1-2 years experience working in trades related role as coordinator, recruitment or other
  • Understanding of Industrial Millwright, Electrical and Welding trades and associated labour market information
  • Knowledge of relevant cultural traditions and Indigenous History
  • Clear vulnerable sector check
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract and access to insured, licenced automobile
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
