2016 ANCFSAO ANNUAL CONFERENCE

APRIL 26-28, 2016

SARNIA, ON

– CALL FOR PRESENTERS –

On April 26-28, 2016 child welfare practitioners from across Ontario will convene at the Sarnia, Ontario Holiday Inn for the 2016 Association of Native Child and Family Service Agencies of Ontario (ANCFSAO) annual conference.

In partnership with Mnaasged Child and Family Services, we are bringing together practitioners, community members, policy-makers, researchers and other stakeholders to highlight best and promising practices in community-based prevention and intervention programs and services, and to dialogue on ways to best support Aboriginal children, families and communities. The theme for our 2016 conference is Reconciliation through Culturally Appropriate Child Welfare Practices.

We welcome individuals and collaborators to submit 150 word workshop and presentation abstracts on the following topics:

  • Approaches to reconciliation in child welfare
  • Aboriginal approaches to child welfare
  • Culturally informed mainstream child welfare practices
  • Aboriginal approaches to alternative dispute resolution
  • Successful community-based prevention and intervention programs and services
  • New and emerging research in Aboriginal child welfare

Submissions should clearly identify the following information: name of presenter(s), title(s), bio(s), affiliation(s), contact information, conference theme, session title, and format.

Call for presentation submission deadline: February 5, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
