About the Award

Launched in 2007, this award was created by AFOA Canada to address demand in our communities for Indigenous financial management professionals. With the generous sponsorship and support of Nutrien, we are celebrating our 13th Annual Indigenous Youth Financial Management Awards! The Awards are open to all Indigenous youth in grades 11 and 12. Applicants are required to submit an essay which is reviewed and ranked by a selection committee. Recipients will be flown to Ottawa to participate in AFOA Canada’s 19th National Conference and special youth program. Students are introduced to career opportunities in financial management, meet financial management and academic professionals, as well as Indigenous Leaders, and are provided with information on pursuing an education in financial management.
