Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) Announces 2016 Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Program Certified Companies

Toronto, ONAugust 12, 2016 – CCAB is pleased to announce the 2016 list of Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Program Certified companies.

Established in 2001, the PAR program includes an online management and reporting tool that supports participating companies’ efforts towards progressive improvement in Aboriginal relations, and a certification program that confirms corporate performance in Aboriginal relations at the bronze, silver or gold level.

The PAR program provides a high level of assurance through the independent, third party verification of company reports on measurable outcomes and initiatives in four performance areas: employment, business development, community investment and community engagement. These verified reports are then reviewed by an independent jury of Aboriginal business people that assign the final certification level.

CCAB President and CEO JP Gladu said, “Congratulations to this year’s PAR Program Certified companies who have demonstrated that they value the importance of positive relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal communities and businesses. When Aboriginal peoples see the PAR logo, they know that these companies are good business partners, great places to work, and are committed to prosperity in Aboriginal communities.”

The 2016 list of Progressive Aboriginal Relations Program Certified companies includes the following:

  • Aramark Remote Workplace Services (PAR Gold)
  • BMO Financial Group (PAR Gold)
  • Brook McIlroy (PAR Bronze)
  • Cameco Corporation (PAR Gold)
  • Civeo (PAR Silver)
  • ESS Support Services (PAR Gold)
