Peterborough ON – (May 12, 2020) – Fleming College will offer four free online courses for members of the community during the COVID-19 outbreak. The courses address current issues, and prepare students to pursue full certificate programs in the future.

Each course provides introductions to programs offered at Fleming, and participants who take the courses can pursue further studies once the COVID-19 disruption has ended. The four free online programs include:

  • Introduction to Children’s Mental Health (CMH) – class capacity reached, registration closed. Related program: Continuing Education’s Children’s Mental Health Certificate.
  • Topics in Emergency Management and Business Continuity – introduction course will give participants knowledge and skills to promote resilience and recovery in people, communities and businesses during many types of emergencies. Related program: Full-time graduate certificate in Emergency Management and Business Continuity, coming January 2021.
  • Respect, Reconciliation & Relationships – introduction course to the study of Indigenous (First Nations, Metis and Inuit) Peoples in Canada. This course is the equivalent of a one-semester course that can be counted towards the Indigenous Perspectives Designation offered at Fleming College. Related program: Continuing Education’s Restorative Practices and Alternative Dispute Resolution Graduate Certificate.
