Political parties hoping to win the support of Ukrainian-Canadian voters will likely be taking a close look at the results of a new “leaders survey” that is set to be released by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress later this morning.

Last month, the UCC published its “six key policy priorities” for the federal election: “welcoming newcomers to Canada, fighting online hate and disinformation, supporting democratic and economic reform in Ukraine, ensuring security and dignity for seniors, helping our culture flourish, and “strengthening Canada-Ukraine defence and security relations.”

With an estimated population of over 1.3 million, Ukrainian-Canadians makes up one of the country’s largest ethnic communities, according to the UCC, which makes it a significant voting bloc in potentially key ridings in the Greater Toronto Area and on the prairies.
