Morning Brief: Trudeau hosts Bloc’s Blanchet in second day of leader meetings – iPolitics

Conservative leader Andrew Scheer said Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will need to find common ground with opposition parties to sustain the 43rd Parliament after the two met on Tuesday. Scheer was first-up in what Trudeau has said will be a week spent by him meeting with opposition leaders.

Speaking to reporters after their Parliament Hill meeting, Scheer said he outlined Conservatives’ priorities to Trudeau, which include creating a national energy corridor, a roadmap for construction on the Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion project, broad-based tax cuts, and addressing the “very real crisis” of national unity, which he blames the prime minister for worsening.

“We saw Mr. Trudeau campaign by pitting one region of this country against the other,” Scheer said.
