SWIFF engaging aspiring indigenous filmmakers with workshop series – Sarnia This Week

Local First Nations youth interested in telling their stories through the medium of film will have a golden opportunity to get some hands-on learning done alongside several highly-respected indigenous filmmakers, as part of a free initiative run by the South Western International Film Festival (SWIFF).

Indigenous youth aged 14 to 19 are being encouraged to enroll in one of SWIFF’s three filmmaking workshops that will take place in Aamjiwnaang, Walpole Island and Kettle & Stony Point First Nations.

The first workshop – led by award-winning filmmaker, performance artist and writer Thriza Cuthand – will take place at Aamjiwnaang’s Maawn Dosh Gumig Community Centre on July 19 and 20.
