Labour Force Survey, January 2019
The number of people employed grew by 67,000 in January, mostly among youth aged 15 to 24 and in the services-producing industries. The unemployment rate increased 0.2 percentage points to 5.8% as more people looked for work.
Food services and drinking places, annual, 2017
Firms in the food services and drinking places subsector generated $71.8 billion in operating revenue in 2017, up 5.4% from 2016. The increase in 2017 was driven in part by menu inflation, with the Consumer Price Index reporting that the price of food purchased from restaurants was up 2.6%, while prices for alcoholic beverages served in licensed establishments increased by 1.5%. Operating expenses for the subsector rose to $68.6 billion in 2017, up 5.2% from 2016. The operating profit margin was 4.3%.
Charitable donors, 2017
Donating to a recognized charity or organization which issues tax receipts serves two purposes: it allows individuals to reduce the amount of income tax they have to pay while also giving them a way to help others in need.

Lumber production fell 8.5% from October to 5 294.8 thousand cubic metres of lumber in November. Production was 10.0% lower than in November 2017.
