Employment Insurance, November 2019
In November, 451,000 people received regular Employment Insurance benefits, virtually unchanged from the previous month. Increases in Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Nova Scotia were offset by slight declines in other provinces.
Travel between Canada and other countries, November 2019
The number of travellers to Canada from the United States and overseas declined 1.4% in November, while travel abroad by Canadian residents edged up 0.3%.
StatsCannabis data availability: Crowdsourced cannabis prices, fourth quarter 2019
The Government of Canada legalized the production and sale of cannabis for non-medical purposes on October 17, 2018. With legalization, Statistics Canada updated the StatsCannabis crowdsourcing application to capture changes in consumer behaviours due to the new legalized status. Updates included additional questions on the source of supply (legal or illegal) and first time use, as well as the original questions on price, location, consumption, quality and quantity purchased.
Architectural services, 2018
In 2018, the architectural services and the landscape architectural services industries—which are responsible for planning and designing residential, industrial, commercial, institutional and government buildings and land developments—had a combined total operating revenue of $5.2 billion, an increase of 6.1% from 2017. Operating revenue for these industries grew faster than the Canadian economy from 2014 to 2018. The architectural services industry generated just under 90% of the combined operating revenue in 2018.
Consulting Services Price Index, third quarter 2019
The Consulting Services Price Index rose 0.4% in the third quarter, following a decrease of 0.9% the previous quarter.
