BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Accepting Applications
The Niagara Aboriginal Area Management Board (NPAAMB) is accepting applications for community representatives of the Board for the following areas; Fort Erie (1), Hamilton (2), Brantford (1), St. Catharines (1).
NPAAMB is seeking applications from urban Aboriginal persons with a demonstrated and meaningful interest in Aboriginal youth employment and training issues. The Board is seeking members who may have particular skills and experiences that can complement those of current board members, specifically in the fields of legal, social justice, financial and/or media/public relations. We do however also invite applications from individuals with skills sets in the areas of program development, contracts, partnership development and corporate social responsibility and human resources.
Originally established in 1992, NPAAMB began to primarily serve the employment and training needs of urban Aboriginal youth (ages 15-30) in 1998 in southern Ontario catchment areas. NPAAMB, as a circle of Aboriginal people with a vision of self-determination, seeks to enhance the quality of life through employment and training initiatives, ultimately resulting in a skilled Aboriginal labour force.
Individuals skills training and supports, industry specific participant based training (i.e. welding, pre-apprenticeship, construction, security, media); employment counselling; job start and retention supports; stay in school programs and events; work experience placements form the core service model of the organization.
