Coordinator, Housing and Wellness Program
The First Nations Housing Professional Association (FNHPA) is a new professional association committed to excellence in expanding housing management capacity for First Nations organizations. FNHPA is seeking a highly motivated, independent, and dynamic individual who will effectively and professionally provide coordination with all matters relating to the Housing and Wellness Program.
This Coordinator will enhance and assist with delivery of products and services developed or acquired and offered by the Association to its current and future members. The position will also be the primary contact for program development, logistics, training and education and administrative support services.
This contract position is available until March 31, 2022. Continuation of employment after that date is dependent on the availability of funding, but it is the hope that this position will continue beyond that date. The Coordinator will report to the FNHPA Executive Director.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote, manage, and grow participation of the “Keeper of My Home” Program nationally.
- Develop and implement communications and marketing strategies for program uptake.
- Work with and respond to participants to access resources and activities.
- Develop and maintain the web area for programs.
- Support the Executive Director in task force, special committee and partnership meetings including meeting coordination and development of agenda content, minutes, and action lists.
- Develop, coordinate, and deploy program information and materials.
- Support workshops, along with registrations, administrative activities and required logistics.
- Liaise with FNHPA Members and other First Nations staff as appropriate.
- Work with subject matter experts in methodology and developing content.
- Assist with conference development and Annual General Meeting activities.
- Monitor revenue and expense performance for responsible programs and develop monthly status reports on program activities.
- Attend trade shows as required to promote the FNHPA and its Housing Wellness Program.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders: members; First Nation communities; partners; and funders.
- Perform all work in a culturally responsive manner consistent with FNHPA vision, mission, values, goals, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborates with FNHPA staff on common work plans and deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
The preferred candidate will have:
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma or 3 years of relevant work experience preferably in First Nation programming.
- An understanding of First Nations housing issues and services.
- Computer Literacy in a Windows environment including database management, website navigation, and social media platforms.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and above-average customer service orientation
- Strong office and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with members, co-workers, and volunteers in a professional manner.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines and change priorities with ease.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- First Nations Housing Professional (FNHP) or currently enrolled in the program.
- Experience working with Indigenous organizations.
- Fluency in French and/or an Indigenous language.
- Awareness of online learning and facilitating people and projects.
