FASD Worker – Toronto
(one year contract with a possibility of renewal)
Aboriginal Legal Services of Toronto (ALS) is hiring an FASD Worker for our Toronto office. This is a one year contract but it could be extended if additional funding is secured.
The FASD Worker will have a small caseload of FASD affected individuals who are involved with the justice system. The worker will be expected to accompany clients to meetings, liaise with justice system personnel and assist in finding housing and other resources. The FASD Worker will also make referrals to a diagnostic team for those individuals who are suspected of being affected by FASD but are not diagnosed. Finally, the Worker will help develop some small group programs as well.
The successful candidate should have a good knowledge of FASD and experience working with FASD affected individuals. They should be able to work well under pressure and to handle a regular caseload of clients. The Caseworker will be able to work independently and to manage a number of files at once. Knowledge of the legal system and programs and services available to Aboriginal people and people affected by FASD in the Toronto area would be a great asset.
Please forward all applications by Friday, March 17, 2017 to:
