Manager, Certified Programs

SALARY LEVEL: $66,731-$90,282

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: As a critical member of the Education leadership team, the Manager, Certified Programs is responsible for AFOA Canada’s certified program activities, including overseeing all certified program delivery, prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR), and evaluation. The incumbent provides training to staff, facilitators and assessors and has shared responsibility for the maintenance of the AFOA Canada website, web-based applications and e-communications. The Manager, Certified Programs is a member of the AFOA Canada’s management team.

AFOA Canada is the national centre for excellence and innovation in Indigenous management, finance, and governance. Established in 1999, the Association is the only organization in Canada that focuses on the capacity development and day to day needs of Indigenous professionals working in all areas of management, finance and governance – today’s leaders and those of the future.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a degree (ideally a graduate degree) and 5 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The CAFM, CAPA, CIL or CIHRP designation(s) is an asset.
  • Experience in association management and/or learning management database(s)
  • Strong technical, analytical and communications skills to troubleshoot and solve problems
  • Experience in a management role, with strong project management skills and people management skills
  • An ability to motivate staff and students
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high quality deliverables in a timely manner
  • Financial management skills to review and verify revenue and expenses
  • Additional preference may be provided to those who are fluent in French and/or an Indigenous language

This is a full-time permanent position at the AFOA Canada office, in Ottawa, Ontario with the possibility for a hybrid work environment (in-person and remote). Some weekend work and travel is required. An attractive compensation and benefits package is offered for the permanent position.
