Personal Support Worker
Wellness Building / Client Homes
The purpose of this position is to offer physical, mental, and emotional support to client by assisting them with activities of daily living. This position also preforms various duties such as preparing healthy and nutritious meals, assisting with daily tasks such as light housekeeping and personal care services. Collaborating with health care professionals to ensure optimal care.
The duties and responsibilities of this position are:
- Assisting with personal care including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and dressing.
- Preparing of nutritious meals and assisting clients with eating, if needed.
- Preforming light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, changing bed linens, and tidying of living spaces.
- Assisting clients with physicals exercises and other needs as directed
- To be accepting of delegated tasks by the health care team.
- Medication reminders
- Providing companionship and engaging clients in social and recreational activities.
- Observing client’s overall health conditions and reporting any changes and concerns
- Maintaining detailed records of care and services provided.
- Other duties as directed/required by the Home & Community Care RPN and Manager
QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Requirements: (APPLICANTS MUST SHOW NECESSARY PROOF WITH APPLICATION OR WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY SCREENED OUT)
EDUCATION:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma
- Certified Personal Support Worker
OTHER RELATED REQUIREMENTS:
- Current First Aid and CPR (willingness to obtain)
- Food Handlers (willingness to obtain)
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (willingness to obtain)
- High-level sensitivity to Native issues
- Exhibits initiative and self-direction, good organizational and communication skills
- Must be bondable and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Good physical health, must be able to lift, bend and twist and endure repetitive movements.
- Must have a clear Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a Part-Time Permanent position for a minimum 20 hours a week (up to 39.5 hours a week which may include evenings/weekends), beginning immediately. Annual salary range for this position is $43,678 – $46,590.
