Position Summary |
Interior Health is seeking an experienced health care professional with exceptional leadership skills to lead and provide transformational and strategic direction to an amazing team.
The Program Director, Medical Imaging, is responsible and accountable for the overall operation and management of Medical Imaging across Interior Health (IH). The Program Director provides clinical and operational leadership and strategic direction to ensure the optimal delivery of Medical Imaging services and initiatives that meet IH goals, objectives, and patient needs while maintaining system sustainability. Working in partnership with the Medical Imaging Medical Director, responsibilities include strategic and tactical planning, in collaboration with stakeholders; policy development; resource allocation; and establishment of standards and procedures. The Program Director is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Medical Imaging Senior Leadership Team to ensure that priorities are addressed, integration of services is achieved, and performance targets are met. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Leads and oversees Medical Imaging (Imaging) in partnership with the Medical Director, by planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating all aspects of Medical Imaging based on clinical and operational needs throughout IH. 2. Works in collaboration with other Health Service/Medical Directors and stakeholders to ensure services support the vision, values, and objectives of IH. 3. Fosters and builds strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 4. Provides overall leadership and direction for clinical and operational staff, ensuring adherence to accreditation, regulatory and professional standards, workplace safety, and organizational policies. 5. Identifies manpower requirements and works collaboratively in the development of human resource strategies to ensure recruitment and retention of technologists and support staff to meet clinical needs. 6. Creates a learning environment with the development of an organizational climate that promotes and supports professional growth of all staff. Provides mentoring and coaching to Imaging Directors and Professional Practice Leaders as required. 7. Manages staff by recruiting, hiring, disciplining, and terminating as required. Completes performance evaluations and prepares staff development and training plans. Participates in labour relations activities as required. Interprets collective agreements and legislation in consultation with Human Resources. 8. Ensures safe, quality service is delivered and cost efficiency, consistency, and standardization is achieved. 9. Leads the planning and development of capital and operating budgets to complement strategic directions within existing fiscal limits. 10. Establishes and implements regional performance objectives and indicators for Imaging to monitor and evaluate performance and quality of service. 11. Optimizes the deployment and effectiveness of available resources in the delivery of necessary, appropriate, and continuous health services to populations within IH. 12. Provides IH Senior Executive and the Ministry of Health regular formal and informal reports on planning initiatives, program/service changes, performance indicators, and outcomes. 13. Keeps abreast of advances in technologies related to Imaging, evaluates, and makes recommendations as appropriate. 14. Represents IH and Imaging interests on relevant committees, councils, and boards and at external events. Keeps informed and current on management and professional practices by participation in professional associations, attendance at conferences, courses, and seminars. 15. Performs other related duties as required. |
Qualifications |
If you have a Master’s degree and are able to demonstrate 7 to 10 successful years of progressive senior management experience in large, complex, adaptive health organizations then we would love to hear from you.
