Christian Morrisseau scheduled to testify on Wednesday
Dec 09, 2015
The coroner’s inquest into the deaths of First Nations students in Thunder Bay, Ont., begins its examination of the death of Kyle Morrisseau with testimony from the teen’s father and brother on Wednesday.
Morrisseau disappeared in Thunder Bay in 2009 after coming to the city from Keewaywin First Nation to attend high school. His body was later found in the McIntyre River.
The 17-year-old is one of seven students from remote First Nations who died in Thunder Bay between 2000 and 2011. The inquest is exploring how the students died and may make recommendations to prevent future deaths.
