Kasabonika Lake, Ontario – Greg Rickford, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor), announced today a Government of Canada investment to support economic and business growth, jobs and long-term prosperity in Kasabonika Lake First Nation.

“Our government is committed to working closely with Aboriginal communities to support their efforts to diversify, grow and create jobs. Today’s announcement will help Kasabonika Lake First Nation create an economic roadmap that will guide its efforts to maximize economic opportunities, including those related to resource development projects such as the Ring of Fire,” stated Minister Rickford.

“This project will help our community develop a cohesive planning approach that will prepare us to benefit from emerging business opportunities. On behalf of the members of our First Nation, I welcome and appreciate this strong show of support from the Government of Canada,” commented Chief Eno H. Anderson Kasabonika Lake First Nation.
