OTTAWA — The federal government has announced it will spend $74.6 million on 124 projects funded through recent calls for proposals under the Union Training and Innovation Program (UTIP).
The projects support training through the purchase of equipment and materials and improve the participation of equity-deserving groups in apprenticeships, explained a release.
As part of the funding, 114 projects from the 2022 and 2023 calls for proposals under the Investments in Training Equipment stream will be allotted to unions and training providers to improve the quality of training through the purchase of equipment and new materials that meet upgraded industry standards.
