First Nations Health Managers Association Announces the 2015 Certified First Nations Health
Managers, Valedictorian and the Recipient of the President’s Award

Ottawa, ON (November 13, 2015) – The 2015 Certified First Nations Health Manager (CFNHM) graduation ceremonies were a success on the evening of November 4, 2015 at the Le Westin Montréal, Montreal, QC. This year the First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA) honored 21 graduates during a formal dinner and reception. Douglas Mercer, CFNHM, South East Resource Development Council, Manitoba delivered the valedictorian address.

FNHMA President (at time of ceremony), Judy Sugar, CFNHM states “21 graduate names have been added to the list of 86 Certified First Nations Health Mangers from across Canada. Each graduate is deserving of this designation and has demonstrated their hard work. Our CFNHMs move forward using the tools and motivation to succeed and contribute to the health of our nations – Congratulations!”

Our CFNHMs are highly skilled professionals in First Nation health management and are well aware of the challenges of First Nation health and have the management and cultural knowledge necessary to lead and develop organizations. We are very proud of their accomplishments and dedication to First Nation health leadership.

Each year a member is honored with the President’s Award, which recognizes the significant contribution of an individual to the development of the First Nations Health Managers Association. This year we were happy to announce that Gail Boehme, CFNHM, File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council Health Services, Saskatchewan was the recipient of this prestigious award. Congratulations Gail!
