Hamilton’s Indigenous community to hold candlelight vigil after Saskatchewan stabbings – CBC

The vigil takes place on Sunday at 6 p.m. at Pier 4

Hamilton’s Indigenous community is hosting a candlelight vigil Sunday in the wake of mass stabbings in James Smith Cree Nation and nearby Weldon, Sask., that killed 10 people and hurt 18 others.

The two suspects involved also died.

The vigil takes place on Sunday at 6 p.m. at Pier 4.

The stabbings in Saskatchewan sent shock waves throughout the country.

It prompted the elected council of Six Nations of the Grand River, Ont., to send $2,500 and their condolences to James Smith Cree Nation.
