Indigenous Veterans Day recognized across Canada Friday – Durham Radio News

Friday is Indigenous Veterans Day.

It’s marked each year on November 8 and has been marked every year since 1994.

Many politicians issued statements to mark Indigenous Veterans Day.

Greg Rickford, Ontario’s Minister of Indigenous Affairs and First Nations Economic Reconciliation, issued the following statement in recognition of Indigenous Veterans Day:

“Today, on Indigenous Veterans Day, Ontarians are encouraged to take the opportunity to honour and remember the tens of thousands of Indigenous veterans who have helped keep our country safe in times of war and military conflict.
