Ottawa Indigenous Children & Youth Pow Wow Celebrates 23rd Year!
Ottawa, ON (March 17, 2023) – [THE ODAWA NATIVE FRIENDSHIP CENTRE], the 23rd Annual Ottawa Indigenous Children & Youth Pow Wow will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Shaw Centre. This event marks an exciting time for the Indigenous community to gather, celebrate and honour our children and youth and the important role they play in their communities.
Other highlights in this event include; special Grand Entry guests Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, Indigenous Services Canada Deputy Minister Gina Wilson, Indigenous Services Canada Assistant Deputy Minister Valérie Gideon, City Councillor Stéphanie Plante, and others; a Baby Welcoming Ceremony; Indigenous craft vendors; community organization booths; an evening feast from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm; and an evening social Pow Wow featuring Indigenous drumming and dancing from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
The City of Ottawa is well known for its diversity and richness of cultures and this event is inclusive to everyone. We encourage non‐Indigenous peoples to attend, participate and learn more about Indigenous cultures.
