Salon 27 – Truth & Reconciliation in Toronto – October 13. 2016

Toronto has the largest Indigenous urban population in Canada.  What does Truth and Reconciliation mean in our particular urban context?
Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam will moderate a panel discussion with four leaders from Toronto’s Indigenous communities to hear their insights
about building an inclusive city.

The conversation will focus on moving forward and the need for change including Indigenous placemaking, visibility, and representation.

Salon 27 is a unique event to bring together residents of Ward 27 and the broader City to hear new perspectives on emerging issues impacting
life in our City.

Susan Blight – Artist and Activist
Sam Kloetstra – Youth Coordinator, Toronto Indigenous Health Advisory Circle
Sarah Midanik – Executive Director, Native Women’s Resource Centre
Andre Morriseau – Director, Awards and Stakeholder Relations, Canadian Council for Aboriginal Businesses (CCAB)

Time: 6:00 – 9:00pm.  Panel discussion to begin at 6:30pm.  Social Mixer from 8:00-9:00pm with light refreshments provided
