Students from Elliot Lake Secondary School have raised funds to help bring improvement to water systems in Indigenous communities.
Hospitality and Tourism Specialist High Skills Major teacher Mitch Landriault says students not only raised just over $600 to donate to a clean water organization, they also created a four-day awareness campaign to educate their peers about the concerns on First Nations.
Landreault adds the students made and sold sugar candies and scone dogs to make the money, which will be donated to the Waterfirst organization.
