T3PS & OPP Arrest 4 People for Trafficking Illicit Substances

(Fort Frances) – On Tuesday February 11th, 2025, Police arrested 4 individuals and formally charge 3, successfully concluding a three month-long investigation into the Illicit sale of controlled drugs and substances in Couchiching First Nation and the surrounding area.
Members of the Treaty Three Police Service’s (T3PS) Drug Enforcement Unit, T3PS Street Crime Unit, T3PS Uniform members, the OPP’s Northwest Regions Community Street Crime Unit (Fort Frances & Dryden), and the OPP’s Northwest Region Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, arrested 4 individuals following a Search Warrant at a residence on Couchiching First Nation. Police seized Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, approximately $5,000 in Canadian Currency, and other items associated with trafficking illicit substances.
A 59-year-old female and a 27-year-old female from Couchiching First Nation, along with a 34-year-old male from Seine River First Nation have been charged with the following offences:
- Charge 1: Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Contrary to Section 5(2) of the CDSA
- Charge 2: Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime – in Canada, Contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
All individuals have been released from custody. The three charged individuals have been placed on several conditions and have a court date in April.
