Consumer Price Index, February 2018
The Consumer Price Index rose 2.2% on a year-over-year basis in February, following a 1.7% increase in January. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index was up 0.2% in February after increasing 0.5% in January.
Retail trade, January 2018
Retail sales increased 0.3% in January to $49.9 billion. General merchandise stores were the largest contributors to the increase.
Book publishing industry, 2016
The Canadian book publishers industry generated operating revenue of $1.6 billion in 2016, down 0.6% compared with 2014. Operating expenses decreased 1.4% to $1.5 billion, resulting in an operating profit margin of 10.2%.
Natural gas transmission, storage and distribution, January 2018
Natural gas transmission pipelines received 597.3 million gigajoules of natural gas from fields, gathering systems and plants in January, up 5.5% from the same month in 2017. Seven provinces posted receipts, with Alberta (68.8%) and British Columbia (29.1%) holding the vast majority.
Oilseed crushing statistics, February 2018
Oilseed processors crushed 675 944 tonnes of canola in February. Oil production totalled 302 001 tonnes, while meal production totalled 373 422 tonnes.
Deliveries of major grains, February 2018
Data on major grain deliveries are now available for February.
Milled wheat and wheat flour produced, January 2018
Millers milled 257 590 tonnes of wheat in January, while wheat flour production totalled 197 617 tonnes.
