Research and development on energy efficiency technologies more than doubled in 2018
Spending on energy-related research and development performed in-house by Canadian companies totalled nearly $1.7 billion in 2018, up 7.7% from 2017.
Wholesale trade: Early indicator, August 2020
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale sector for the month of August. The advance results for August indicate that wholesale sales rose 0.1%.
Dairy statistics, July 2020
The total amount of milk sold off farms increased 0.4% year over year to 778 450 kilolitres in July. Meanwhile, milk sold off farms for fluid purposes increased 2.5% to 227 014 kilolitres. Milk sold off farms for industrial purposes decreased 0.5% year over year to 551 436 kilolitres.
Oilseed crushing statistics, August 2020
Oilseed processors crushed 830 335 tonnes of canola in August. Oil production totalled 363 424 tonnes, while meal production totalled 465 059 tonnes.

Millers milled 288 170 tonnes of wheat in August, while wheat flour production totalled 218 758 tonnes.
