Canadian System of Environmental–Economic Accounts: Intensities and demand-based measures, 2021
In 2021, the average national direct plus indirect intensity of energy use of the Canadian economy was 4.16 gigajoules of energy per thousand current dollars of output. The corresponding average direct plus indirect intensity of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions was 0.30 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents per thousand current dollars of output.
Physical flow account for greenhouse gas emissions, by gas type, 2009 to 2022
Data from the Physical flow account for greenhouse gas emissions are now available upon request by gas type for reference years 2009 to 2022. Gas types included are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), in CO2 equivalents.

Following two years of double-digit growth, the Canadian advertising and related services industry returned to single-digit growth in 2023, with operating revenues rising 7.8% compared with 2022 to $14.4 billion.
