The total amount of milk sold off farms in November increased 2.5% year over year to 779 985 kilolitres. Meanwhile, milk sold off farms for fluid purposes decreased 1.8% to 226 709 kilolitres. Milk sold off farms for industrial purposes increased 4.4% year over year to 553 276 kilolitres.

Food services and drinking places, November 2022

On a seasonally adjusted basis, sales in the food services and drinking places subsector decreased 0.9% to $7.3 billion in November. Declining sales were reported across the industry, led by full-service (-1.1%) and limited-service (-0.4%) restaurants. Special food services (-1.4%) and drinking places (-3.4%) also reported losses.

Wholesale trade: Early indicator, December 2022

Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale trade sector for December. The advance results for December indicate that wholesale sales fell 1.8%. The decrease reflects lower sales in the machinery, equipment and supplies subsector and the miscellaneous goods subsector.
