Provincial and territorial economic accounts, 2023
Canada’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 1.5% in 2023, following a 4.2% increase in 2022 and a 6.0% growth in 2021. The rise in GDP in 2023 was driven by higher exports and household spending on services.
Supply and use tables, 2021
The national, provincial and territorial supply and use tables are now available for 2021.
Study: Languages in Nunavut, 2021
Nunavut stood out for its highest rate of bilingualism among the provinces and territories in 2021, with more than two-thirds of residents able to conduct a conversation in two or more languages (68.0%). Notably, nearly three in four Inuit (72.3%) could conduct a conversation in both Inuktitut and English.
Retail Commodity Survey, August 2024
Retail sales reached $69.9 billion in August, an increase of 0.6% compared with the same month one year earlier. Higher sales were reported in 7 of the 18 commodity classes.
