Scotiabank’s ScotiaRISE Fuels Indigenous Youth Leadership Through Play

by ahnationtalk on September 24, 20255 Views

Right To Play is thrilled to announce a new three-year partnership with Scotiabank’s community investment initiative, ScotiaRISE, which is committing $300,000 to support Indigenous youth leadership across Canada.

This funding will directly invest in skills development for up to 240 Indigenous youth workers who lead Right To Play’s PLAY program in communities coast to coast to coast. Through specialized training in project management, financial literacy, event planning, budgeting, and facilitation, these youth workers will strengthen their leadership skills and expand their impact. In turn, they will support more than 5,200 Indigenous children every week, using the power of play to foster learning, resilience, and cultural pride.

Scotiabank has been a proud supporter of Right To Play since 2014. The renewed commitment through ScotiaRISE is part of the Bank’s broader $500 million community investment initiative, which aims to create more inclusive, equitable communities and remove barriers for people to reach their full potential.

“Through our ScotiaRISE community investment initiative, we are proud to partner with the Right To Play program to help facilitate training and job opportunities for youth workers in underserved communities,” says Karen Soos, Director and Global Head, Social Impact, Scotiabank. “As part of Scotiabank’s commitment to truth and reconciliation, we are steadfast in our mission to help remove barriers and increase access for Indigenous Peoples to pursue education, career opportunities, and personal development.”

Together, Right To Play and Scotiabank are building stronger futures by investing in Indigenous youth workers who are leading positive change in their communities today—and inspiring the leaders of tomorrow.
