Student powwow honours successful academic year – CBC
Special event will be a mix of traditional and competitive powwow

First Nations, Metis and Inuit students are being honoured Friday during a powwow on the lawn of Kennedy Collegiate.
Dancers and drummers from throughout the region will attend the event designed to honour a successful school year for students in the Greater Essex County District School Board.
With a particular focus on Grade 8 and graduating students, the powwow will be a mix of traditional and competitive styles, explained Paula Hedgepeth, the district’s First Nations, Metis and Inuit student support worker.
