Beyak is sabotaging the federal government’s efforts to set things right with the country’s First Nations.

In baseball, it’s three strikes and you’re out. In Canada’s Senate, you’re safe until the age of 75 no matter how many wild swings and misses you make. And that’s true even if you clobber the public you’re appointed to serve.

Case in point is Sen. Lynn Beyak who, no matter how much and how often she offends Indigenous Canadians, remains securely ensconced in the Upper Chamber where she enjoys a substantial base pay of $153,900 a year.

That’s troubling because Beyak is sabotaging the federal government’s efforts to set things right with the country’s First Nations.

Beyak’s bizarre antics began in 2017 when she criticized the Truth and Reconciliation Commission for not “focusing on the good” of Canada’s residential school system.
