Grand Council Treaty #3 Congratulates Chief Janice Henderson on Re-Election

Ogichidaa Francis Kavanaugh and Grand Council Treaty #3 congratulate Janice Henderson, re-elected Chief of Mitaanjigamiing First Nation on May 5, 2025. Also elected were Councillors Chris Henderson and Darlene Whitecrow.
“I am pleased to offer my congratulations to Chief Henderson as she begins yet another term as Chief of Mitaanjigamiing. Chief Henderson is always a welcome participant at Grand Council Treaty #3 and has been a close personal advisor and friend for many years. I wish her all the best in her upcoming term and look forward to continue working together for the benefit of Mitaanjigamiing and the Anishinaabe Nation in Treaty #3”
Chief Henderson continues to serve on the Cultural Chiefs Committee at Grand Council Treaty #3 and is a long-serving member of the Resource Revenue Sharing Committee and Treaty Implementation Table Committee. Chief Henderson also served many years as a board member of Grand Council Treaty #3.
Mitaanjigamiing First Nation is located on Rainy Lake north of Fort Frances. The total registered population of Mitaanjigamiing is approximately 198 of which 132 live on-reserve.
