Self-reported fraud in Canada, 2019
In 2019, one in six (17%) people reported that they had been a victim of fraud in the previous five years. The median loss due to fraud was $600. About one-quarter (24%) of victims lost $1,000, while 3% lost at least $10,000. In total, the losses suffered by all fraud victims topped $16 billion in five years.
Outlook of rural businesses, second quarter 2023
In the second quarter of 2023, businesses in rural and small town (RST) areas expected to encounter various obstacles related to high inflation, high costs and supply chains. Despite these expected challenges, most RST businesses were somewhat or very optimistic about their 12-month outlook, a perspective that has improved from the first quarter.

Wholesale trade: Early indicator, June 2023
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the wholesale trade sector for June. The advance results for June indicate that wholesale sales (excluding petroleum, petroleum products, other hydrocarbons and oilseed and grain) fell 4.4%. The decrease reflects lower sales in the machinery, equipment and supplies subsector and the motor vehicle and motor vehicle parts and accessories subsector.
