DESCRIPTION OF PROCUREMENT
Title:  Design-Build of Air Handling Unit 6, Heating Coil Upgrades and Geo-Exchange Field.

Description:

The Facilities Department at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) invites Proponents to submit Proposals for design-build services to replace an Air Handling Unit 6 (AHU-6) in the Science Wing of the Andrews Building along with upgrades to its related electrical mechanical and control systems. The goal being improvement of energy efficiency and support UTSC’s ongoing efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

The University of Toronto Scarborough is located at 1265 Military Trail, Toronto, ON, Canada, M1C 1A4.

Additional work includes:

  1. New Flooring at specified locations. Switching the steam coils in AHU– 9 and AHU–10 from steam to hot water n +9Additional two chillers in the central plant.
  2. Expanding existing Geo-Exchange field by drilling and connecting new boreholes. Replacement and consolidation of Air Handling Units (AHU) 8 and 4.

All systems are to integrate with the Siemens Desigo Building Automation System and meet the necessary codes and standards. The work should be done with as little disruption as possible to the building.

CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

The procurement is subject to the following conditions for participation:
Proponents will adhere to the University of Toronto General Labour Conditions.
Proponents who have qualified on Request to Qualify for Replacement of the Air Handling Unit (AHU) in the Pedestrian Street of the Science Wing, RTQ UTSC 2024-20 are eligible to participate in  RFP UTSC 2025-17.
